TEKPOL SolarTwins Seminars welcomes you in the 2021- 2022 Academic Year (Spring) with new seminars and panels in the new online format with the Theme of "Energy, European Research Area and Social Science and Humanities Aspects" in collaboration with SolarTwins: Solar Twinning to Create Solar Research Twins (No: 856619) Project and ODAKTr Initiative.

Our next seminar on May 13, 2022, will be held at 12:00-13:00 ( 11:00-12:00 CET) on Zoom. The language will be English.

This seminar will be given by Bärbel Epp ( Managing Director of Solrico – German Agency for Solar Market Research & International Communication) entitled as "Cost Trends for Commercial and Industrial Solar Heat".  The seminar will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Derin Güre ( METU Economics).

About the seminar:

Solrico has teamed up with IRENA for collecting cost data of a representative number of realised commercial and industrial (C&I) solar heat projects commissioned between 2010 and 2020 in the major solar heat markets worldwide. The aim was to add solar heat for the first time in IRENA´s flagship publication Renewable Power Generation Costs in June 2021. The analysis results in cost charts either in total installed costs (USD/kW) or Levelized Cost of Heat (USD/kWh). The final results of the cost analysis show impressive cost reductions over time in selected markets. The European large-scale plants also have achieved great economies of scale.

About the speaker:

Bärbel Epp is the founder and managing director of the German market research agency Solrico. She is responsible for the international newsletter on the web portal www.solarthermalworld.org, reporting exclusively about market and technology trends in the solar heating and cooling sector globally. Solrico also created the first online World Map of SHIP suppliers (SHIP = Solar Heat for Industrial Processes) see http://www.solar-payback.com/suppliers and carries out annual surveys among the around 70 companies listed on the world map annually.
